Team Bios
1. Rose Mutete John. – Managing Partner
Rose Mutete is the Managing Partner at Mutete John & Company Advocates and a seasoned legal practitioner with over 15 years of experience advising clients in commercial, property, and regulatory matters. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
Prior to founding the firm, Rose served as in-house counsel at Vehicle and Equipment Leasing Ltd (Vaell), where she oversaw legal, compliance, and operational risk functions. In that role, she was instrumental in setting up and supporting the company’s operations in Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi, and Zimbabwe, giving her firsthand experience in cross-border legal frameworks and regulatory alignment.
Rose oversees the firm’s strategic direction and leads its key practice areas, including commercial litigation, real estate transactions, and cross-border advisory. She has represented both local and international clients in complex disputes and frequently advises on foreign direct investment, joint ventures, market entry strategies, and corporate structuring within the East African region.
Her strength lies in delivering practical, business-minded legal solutions while maintaining high standards of professionalism and client service. Rose is also well-versed in compliance, dispute resolution, and emerging areas such as ESG and data privacy regulation.
2. Amina Mandare Ogembo. – Partner
Amina is a Partner at Mutete John & Company Advocates with over 10 years of experience in commercial law, conveyancing, employment law, and regulatory compliance. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
She routinely advises clients on property transactions, commercial contracts, and labor law matters, and plays a key role in legal due diligence and compliance audits. Amina also supports the firm’s litigation practice and has successfully handled various matters before the Court of Appeal, High Court, Magistrates’ Court and various tribunals. Her proactive client care and attention to detail make her a trusted advisor for both individual and corporate clients.
3. Jasca Mueni Mwendo – Associate
Jasca is an Associate Advocate at Mutete John & Company Advocates. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
Jasca supports the firm’s work in conveyancing, contract review, regulatory compliance, and legal research. She has been involved in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, facilitating land and property transactions, and advising on statutory obligations. Her experience also includes supporting corporate structuring and restructuring processes, including entity formation, reorganization, and regulatory filings.
Jasca contributes to the firm’s cross-border advisory practice through comparative legal research on foreign direct investment and data protection frameworks across African jurisdictions. She is known for her diligence, analytical clarity, and practical approach to legal problem-solving.
4. Rhona Killo – Office Administrator
Rhona is the Office Administrator at Mutete John & Company Advocates and plays a central role in the firm’s daily operations. She manages the front office, coordinates client appointments, oversees the filing system, and ensures timely handling of incoming and outgoing documents. Her responsibilities also include receiving walk-in clients, managing telephone and email correspondence, and supporting internal workflows. Rhona’s organizational skills and reliability contribute significantly to the firm’s professionalism, responsiveness, and operational efficiency.
